Gravel by the yard or by the ton
Gravel is sold both ways depending on the supplier — landscaping yards tend to price by the cubic yard, while quarries and larger bulk deliveries price by the ton. Both units describe the same pile of material; the conversion between them depends on how dense that particular material is.
